Another perspective.
Yesterday I could enjoy one of the most interesting experiences I have lived since I arived to New York. Completely different from the tourist city we have faced before and, surprisingly, just in the middle of the same place.
It is the city of the basic needs. Where being hungry is the main motivation and where places like Grand Central Main Chance provide a solution for many people who is not able to get food for any reason. Exactly "any reason", because respecting the freedom and equality concepts that hold this society, people are not asked to say why they are there, to identify themselves or to explain why they are hungry.
It is not a nice reality, but it exists. Just a different perspective of the same country.
I think it's great that the program is allowing you to see both sides to NYC. There are definitely two very different worlds living side by side. Thanks for doing your part to help the less fortunate.
